Many families agree that summer is the best time of year. Not only can you enjoy the beautiful weather outside, but it is the perfect time to build meaningful memories with the people that you love.

Are you trying to choose the best summer activities to share with your kids? Remember, that the best memories don’t have to cost a lot of money. Instead, you just need to get out of the house and create opportunities to spend quality time with your children. There are many things that you can do at home or in the neighborhood that are free or cheap.

Here are a few options that should be added to your summer bucket list. This list will keep the kids busy and help you have fun at the same time:

And this week, find a 4th of July celebration complete with barbecue, watermelon, sack races and a splashdown in a nearby pool during the day and a comfortable seat for one of the many fireworks displays around Atlanta once the sun goes down. My vantage point, sparklers in hand on the back deck of our North Georgia Mountains home where we take in all the colorful bursts in a panoramic sweep from Lake Lanier to Stone Mountain to downtown Atlanta. A southern flavored Happy Birthday party!
